We are proud to finally unwrap some good news about our good friend and partner Omar Miskinyar's latest project. After launching Friday's at Josephine and hosting tons of successful events at Spank and Tantra Lounge Omar has begun building a amazing venue on U street.
Omar Miskinyar, a true veteran of the DC nightclub industry and owner and brainchild behind POLICY - soon to be the latest addition to hit the growing food and lounge scene in DC’s historic U Street Corridor. He began his career in 2001 promoting major events in some of the city’s most high profile and well-known establishments. Influenced by the likes of 1223 {RIP} and Josephine’s owner David Karim, 18th Street Lounge and Marvin’s owner Farid Nouri and Local 16’s owner Amman Ayoubi, Miskinyar quickly made a name for himself as a successful event host and crowd generator for some of the city’s most exclusive lounges and nightclubs.
His vision for POLICY follows similar form. POLICY’s “truth, love and liberty” theme is apparent in the venue’s small and intimate feel, as well as Chef Brian Murphy’s menu, which offers simple, seasonal food done right and made with the best quality ingredients. Some of you may remember Brain from his posts at L' Auberge Chez Francois and Palena in the district, now he has steeped in to helm POLICY.
A restaurant first and foremost, POLICY is also a hybrid lounge and bar. With room upstairs to kick back and listen to tunes played byresident DJs, guests can sample signature cocktails ranging from theTruthtini, a Green and Lemongrass martini to the Libertini, a twist on a Mango Caipirinha. Miskinyar’s vision is also brought to life in the venue’s physical appearance, developed and built by CORE, one of the country’s most renowned and reputable design and architecture firms.
