Heist DC - VIP Grand Opening - Next Week
Heist DC - The Grand Opening of DC Most Elaborate Heist
After many months of hard work in the demolition of the old Fly Lounge the team at Heist is now finally able to pry open the locks at Heist DC and reveal its almost criminal grandeur to the world. Just like with any well executed Heist it takes time and plenty of planning along with a view masterminds. Thankfully this team had no shortage of either with Patrick Osuna (Tattoo, Rock Bar) teaming up with Chuck Koch better known as DJ Dirty Hands (Fly Lounge DC) both veteran fixtures in the DMV nightlife and hospitality scene for over the past decade each have created venues with an extreme attention to detail.
In our early conversations with partner and former professional soccer star Timothy Shelton, he stressed that they were taking their time with the venue and wanted to make sure every inch of the venue was done right. It’s safe to say he stood by his word, bringing in Brian Swanson (Wynn Las Vegas, Goldbar NYC, YSL) the Award-winning designer and architect turned his attention to the bar and table areas that make up Heist.
If you were ever able to experience the Dupont Circle venue's former incarnation Fly Lounge, you will know that it followed its aviation theme to the note. With early VIP guests receiving boarding passes as invites and pilot wings upon arrival along with airline peanuts. The same can be said of Heist with privileged VIP guests and press have received swag bags with the same attention to detail with ski masks with Heist logo to detailed schematics of the venue.
Once your enter the charred doors and descend into Heist you can see Swanson influence on the aesthetics of the venue along with the partners need to pay close attention to theme of the venue. Everything from the gold plated spy museum worthy jail cells that houses countless bottles of Ace of Spades and Moet champagne. The ceiling features an updated ventilation and sound system and sports a clean and subtle design. Behind the bottle service tables in gold plated jail cells are images of some of the most notorious crime figures and images of stolen artwork, along with video footage of actual heists. Each time you visit Heist we are sure you will discover a different unique aspect about this venue from the bar riddled with real bullets to the gold plated microphone.
This venue delivers in all aspects with excitement and notoriety and leaves you with an certain swagger feeling like you have just pulled off an major heist once you make it inside.
