Overlook 1909 Rooftop Lounge - Night Club & Lounge - Washington, DC

This past weekend we hosted the Grand Opening of "Overlook 1909 Lounge. This is the latest concept from Michael Kosmides and Seyhan Duru  the duo who together have given the city creative venues like Play Lounge DC, Teatro Goldini and Cities.

Overlook is just his latest rooftop concept just in time for the warm summer weather. Located above the12-floor Millennium Building at 1909 K Street, this venue is officially one of the highest rooftop bars in the DC area. The rooftop features a large 300+ person capacity wrap around rooftop deck with 4 video projectors and a innovative lighting display. 

Once you have entered the commercial building's lobby you are whisked up to the penthouse level in the elevator once you exit. You are able to see why this venue has unparalleled panoramic views of the Dupont Area and Georgetown and even Arlington, VA.  While enjoying the views you can either enjoy table bottle service or sip on one of their seven signature cocktails. With names like the spicy "No. 6" with vodka/ cinnamon syrup/ housemade ginger beer, and the "Something Violent aka Whisky Punch", made with rye, a housemade raspberry cordial, and South African rooibos these drinks are sure to put you in the mood. For those looking for something to snack on while taking in the sights and sounds. Teatro Goldoni which is situated on the ground level will be sending up small bites that include: fried calamari, shrimp/ chicken/ steak skewers w/ bell peppers, and sliders w/ shallots, rosemary, and sun-dried tomatoes.

Not only can you enjoy these amazing views during the evening, there will also be late night parties from 10pm - 3am weekly at the venue. Currently Thurs- Sat Night there will be late night parties with DJ's and drummers and dancers.

The Queen Vic - Grand Opening on H Street Corridor

The Queen Vic is slated to open in a few weeks and is currently hosting private events until the doors finally swing open to the public. This is the latest addition to the ever expanding list venues calling the H Street corridor home. Grand Opening date is proposed for March 21st, when the doors open you can expect the feel of British pub.

On tap will be 20 British draft beers to wash down a extensive menu of potted duck and beef heart entrees. There are also classic American fare like lamb and beef burgers and fish and chips. The interior has the classic British feel complete with the retro British telephone booth. Make sure you check this venue out when they finally open.

A Mexican Cantina in the former Sesto Senso location!

Lupe, a downtown Mexican cantina, is having its soft-open now, it takes over the former space for Sesto Senso. This spot goes for a vintage mexican spot feel. The venue still has the dim lighting setup similar to Sesto, the decorations are colorfully Mexican. The new bar features a mural inspired by Mexican graffiti. Behind the bar you can get a fine glass of sangrita, or sample one of their 30-plus tequilas backed with a spicy tomato juice.

Upstairs houses the brand new DJ booth which is next to a blue-tiled table for eight that offers views of the entire venue.

The brand new Biergarten Haus is finally about to open,they are currently booking large parties for lager loving fans. The grand opening is slated for May 7th, and this transplant from Munich is going to make a mark in the atlas district of the city.

The venue features exposed beams and has that classic german bar feel, with dark wood and animal heads adorning the walls. Outside you will see a huge courtyard that is perfect for summer time lounging outside with your favorite lager. The courtyard features a good amount of tables and benches to relax with your German drafts.
