Susan G. Komen fought breast cancer with her heart, body and soul. That concern for others continued even as Susan neared the end of her fight. Moved by Susan's compassion for others and committed to making a difference, Nancy G. Brinker promised her sister that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever.

After back in September of 2008, DJ AM and Travis Barker survived a tragic plane crash in South Carolina. In that crash four people died which was caused when the plane aborted takeoff and then ran off the runway. DJ AM and Barker were the only survivors.



Now I have to sadly report that DJ AM, born Adam Goldstein has sadly passed away before the weekend. The last the anyone heard from the celebrity Deejay was on August 25Th. This is truly very sad news to start a weekend. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and close friends. The entertainment industry has lost another family member.

On Sunday, August 23, 2009 at the Liaison, an Affinia Hotel at 415 New Jersey Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20001. Some of the ‘Who’s Who’ in the Washington, D.C. Social, Fashion, Polo and Philanthropy scene will gather together to present "Adult Swim: A Dare to Be Fashionably Courageous" charity fashion show to benefit the non-profit organization, The Courage Cup- an IRS designated 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation which was established to help at-risk urban youth by supporting and raising awareness for programs in the mid-Atlantic region which give disadvantaged children individualized attention and a positive alternative activity to keep them in school and off the streets. This event brings together Ask Miss A Blog Writer Andrea Rodgers and event architect Eric Lund along with DC A-List.

The highlight of the event will be a one-of-a-kind summer swimwear fashion show with models strutting the runway in high-end swimwear designs from local chic luxury boutique, SyLene, and in fine designer jewelry from Mystique Jewelers, including pieces by Award-winning designer, Alberto Parada who will be in attendance. Additionally, models will be glammed up by celebrity hairstylist's Ted Gibson Salon and make- up artists from Saks Fith Avenue. Some of Washington’s best are expected to attend including philanthropist and model, Katie Rost. The CW’s, Paul Wharton will make a special appearance to serve as the Emcee.

Its been quite a ride for Marc Barnes this past year. With successful parties throughout the week at his new 14th street venue the Park. Things are looking up for the nightlife businessman.

The year has had his share of highs and lows, with launch of the nightlife series on TV ONE "Party Boyz" with his former party partner Taz Wube. Earlier in the year, him and Taz split ways and leading Taz to form 202Events.com and take with him a slew of other promotional teams.

Many believe he has forgot about his venue on Okie street that launched him into worldwide fame with the likes of Jay-Z, Beyonce, Tiesto and many more.. A few months the venue on 1350 Okie street was up for auction because of back taxes north of $40,000. Through it all its time to come and celebrate the true business man that is Marc Barnes.

If you believe that The Park is last stop in Mr. Barnes expansion..just wait..he has a few projects that are hush hush that are in the works...

After being featured on the Washington Post and various blog sites around the city. GoRemy's celebrity status has been rapidly growing. The viral video has even garnered a response video from the neighboring county of Fairfax with their own rap response.

It was only a matter of time before promoters seized the opportunity to capitalized on his popularity. This Saturday K Street Lounge along with Level Entertainment and DC Impulse are having him host their Saturday night party. We are surprised Shadow Room/Absolute Addition folks didn't grab him first.
