ABOUT RNS ►RNS (Raf and Selwyn) are a DC based DJ duo that has quickly become a favorite with club goers in the area with the live performances they incorporate during their set. Their energetic sets push the crowd out of their psychic ruts while testing their dance limits with a wicked mix of electro/indy-dance/progressive and house music.

Raf and Selwyn discovered their common love for electronic music in high school while stealing mixed tapes from their sisters, who were avid club goers. In November 1999, they saw Paul Oakenfold at the now infamous Buzz parties and were completely taken by the DJ’s ability to control the crowd. The rest is history. Their influences include Infusion because of the live performance, Danger, the stage presence of Danny Tenaglia, Depeche Mode, New Order, Billy Idol, Freestyle music, Daft Punk, Nick Warren, Way Out West, and Japanese Pop Stars.
In October 2007 they graduated from Full Sail University with a degree in music production and continued to expand their knowledge as XM radio interns. Club Glow, the power house of the DC Metro area EDM scene, took notice of this dynamic duo and started booking them at their events. Since then they’ve played at the Winter Music Conference and opened for Armand Van Helden at DC Star and Booka Shade at 9:30 Club. To come full circle, the DJ that first inspired them, Paul Oakenfold, used a sample from one of their original tracks in his song ft. Pharrell Williams, “Sex N Money.”

Their goals for the future include an entirely live performance consisting solely of their own original tracks. Their sound will be globally recognized and enjoyed by a wide range of dance music lovers. In addition to their lively performance, original visual art will enhance their act for an experience complete for all of the senses. No matter which direction they may go, originality will always be their focus.

Happy Hour for Haiti Relief at Current Sushi DC | 1.19.10

Come out this Tuesday for sushi and drink specials, and 100% of all fundraising proceeds will go towards the relief effort in disaster-stricken Haiti. Current Lounge has given us specials at the upper bar to help with this event.

There will be drink specials from 5:30 pm-8 pm and sushi specials until 7pm.

The money raised will go to the Oxfam America Haiti Earthquake Response Fund where it will be used for immediate on-the-ground mobilization of staff and resources to address the most immediate needs of the earthquake victims right now: drinkable water, shelter and sanitation to prevent the spread of disease.

Before the earthquake, the people of Haiti were already struggling with daily life in the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. We don't have to just watch this on TV, we can help!
