RECESS LOUNGE DC - Soft Opening Coming Soon

RECESS LOUNGE DC - Soft Opening Coming Soon

Don't you remember the good ole days when you heard the words recess and your hearts almost skipped a beat knowing it was time to play in the sandbox and get away from boring classroom. Those were my memories and I know the same can be said for many of you. Those feelings of happiness and sheer fun are what the owners of the brand new Recess are planning on sharing with patrons.

In the space that used to house the former Asian themed Geisha Lounge DC, former University of Maryland roommates and nightlife fixtures have created Recess. This subterranean lounge which is just steps away from W Hotel and Old Ebbitt Grill, is set to become one of the District's new nightlife destinations.

The venue is lined with black leather couches that are elevated from the main dance floor. The walls features recessed wooden columns and led light elements bathing the walls in changing hues. In front of the gorgeous wood dance floor, stands the deejay booth that feature deejays from all over the district and the nation. Initial plans are for the venue to run 7 days a week with different theme nights and rotating ambassadors for each of those nights.

The Soft Opening is slated for Black Friday on November 27th with Jahsonic

EXHIBIT CLOSES 2010 March 31 (not 2010 March 18)
Soldiers. Charioteers. Archers. Musicians. Generals. Acrobats. Nearly 2,000 years ago, thousands of life-size clay figures were buried in massive underground pits to accompany China's first emperor, Qin Shihuangdi, into the afterlife. Their discovery outside the city of Xi'an in 1974 is one of the greatest archaeological finds of the 20th century.

Now, you can stand face-to-face with these terra cotta warriors. In November 2009, National Geographic Museum will host Terra Cotta Warriors: Guardians of China’s First Emperor, an exhibition featuring treasures from the tomb complex including 15 life-size figures, weapons, armor, coins, and more. Don't miss this chance to see the largest collection of significant artifacts from China ever to travel to the United States.
