The 19th Bar and Lounge Grand Opening DC 3-16-2010

Welcome the 19th as it takes over the former (Karma and the now defunt Skye Lounge DC) space, Skye which was known for its house and international themed nights and operated as dance venue and lounge with outdoor dining and hookah. The theme of the venue has drastically changed with the new ownership. The brand new golf theme relfects the ownership love for taking time out on the links. Gone are the sky blue walls they have now been painted a grassy green and golf posters now adorn the walls. The bar has now been refurbished with oak wood along wooden stools to give patrons a more relaxed vibe.

The kitchen will still be in operation, the menu will features soft pretzels, nachos, chicken tenders. Drafts on tap will be likes of Sam Adams and Italian favorite Peroni along with other common drafts. You can also reach for local brews like VA's Flying Dog Ales bottles,Old Scratch Amber Lager, and In-Heat Wheat Hefeweizen. There is massive whiskey selection that includes five bourbons, five ryes (including Beam's premium R1), and 10 Scotches, along with a full Macallan line-up (18 though 25).19th features a high-tech Macallan ice-ball press (one of only six in the area), which produces perfectly spherical orbs: slower-melting wonders of engineering ensuring only concentrated whiskey enters your own imperfectly spherical orb.

I wonder if its by chance that the grand opening is going to be on St. Patty's Day's. None the less they will be offering $3 pints of Guinness starting at 11am in the morning.
