Grand Opening of Muse Lounge DC | Former RNR and Coyote Ugly Venue

Grand Opening of Muse Lounge DC http://www.museloungedc.com/
New Owners take over old Coyote Ugly/RnR Bar venue!

We are not sure if the address is haunted or just suffers for unknown reasons. This is slated to be the fourth incarnation of the venue at 717 6th Street. First it was a sports bar, then with much fan fare it became Coyote Ugly (or Ugly Coyotes) tried it turn at the venue and that flopped. Next new investors turned it into a hybrid bar/high lounge fusion that didn't work with crowds.

Nothing against the past ownership at the venue, but the concepts just didn't work. This was evident by the up and down of the crowds, even the urban events at the venue were lacking the needed numbers to become successful.

Now the venue's ownership has changed and the new ownership has a combined experience of 30 plus years in owning, running, and promoting D.C. lounges and clubs.

The new owners have taken the old Coyote Ugly/RnR Bar venue and completely turned it around with new upscale design and layout. With complete renovation on all three levels and the rooftop is slated to completed for later next year.

This will be truly the most drastic version of this address. On the first floor the bar has been shortened and all the old wood and walls that reminded you of Coyote Ugly/RnR have been removed and given a modern touch. Without giving to much away, the lighting has been drastically upgraded along with the sound system.

The first floor features a chandelier that is reminiscent of the one found in the The Park but with a touch of Sango Sho at Japone..if those last few confused you then read( it looks kinda cool).

The improved layout adds a lot of space to party in the venue compared to prior designs. Behind the bar multiple flat screens are perfect for happy hours and corporate events.

Brand new Deejay booths adorn all levels and all the table seating areas have been reupholstered with additional flat screens for the viewing pleasure of the table customers. Each of the floors feature settings with intelligent lighting display systems.

If the Grand Opening on Saturday night was any indicator of things to come but the future for Muse looks bright. Trust me you will be amazed at they did with this venue. We truly hope these guys are successful, for more reasons than one.

The Current Weekly Line Up for Venue:
Monday
- Latin Night (LUNES DE AZUCAR)
Wednesday - TBA
Thursday - 88 Collective - Grand Opening Nov 6th
Friday - SOKA (Asian Night)
Saturday - International House Night

Eyebar Lounge - Club | DC | Re - Launch | www.eyebardc.com

Eyebar Lounge and Bar DC Re - Launch This Week http://www.eyebardc.com/

After launching in middle of 2004, Eyebar was the place to be, with lines down the street and the area's top promoters from Panorama and Masoud A to DC A-List hosting various nights at the venue. Each night was a different flavor and the venue was always at capacity each night with amazing interior. As time passed new venues opened up, with new themes and crowds begin to wain, along with the crowds the venue began to show signs of all the years of hard partyin that occured six nights a week.

With Lima conducting renovations and the neighboring Karma now transformed into Skye Lounge, Eyebar decided now was the time to breath fresh air into Eyebar. The orginial team is still there along with some new investors in the venue. The venue now features a elevated table section with new color schemes. The upstairs roof deck is not 100% complete as of this posting, but according to inside sources you will be able stand in certain areas and the heating system will target you and not just the air around you. Crazy I know! The table vip areas have been re-done with new couch sections and now feature a lockable section where you place all your goodies and cellphones.

This is the week, Eyebar is coming back on the scene after major renovations. After the so-called massage parlor on the top floor got the boot. They took over the third level of the buidling. In coming weeks be on the lookout for dates for the opening of the brand new rooftop lounge area.

The Weekly Line Up is as follows - This schedule begins this week.

Tues: Hosted by: Akil Events -
Wed: Hosted by: Primo Productions -
Thurs: Hosted by: DC Impluse and Others
Friday: Hosted by: Nightlife Agency
Sat: Hosted by: Chuck Lee & Matt Sklar

Rocktoberfest | Josephine Lounge | YouthAids | Tantra - What a weekend!

Rocktoberfest Josephine Lounge YouthAids Tantra Tuscana - What a weekend!

Welcome to Monday everyone!

It was another amazing and insane weekend with LITON EVENTS. After multiple rooftop networking parties and gallons of champagne, it was finally Friday. Yes for us the weekend is just another day of the week.

So on Friday, after stopping by Pasara Thai for some Thai Coffee to keep us going through the night we headed into the city. Of course on every one's agenda was the massive Rocktoberfest party thrown by none other than Michael Saylor at the Ritz Carlton in Foggy Bottom. I think everyone who was anyone was in attendance for this event, tons of local bloggers and DC socialites rounded out the guestlist.

The theme was rock n roll and I think everyone came out in their 70-80's best rock star outfits..eyeliner and all. The music was provided by Burnt Sienna and Mr. Greengenes. Mr Greengenes rocked it out I must say, with lead man taking to the mountain of speakers. For this event the usually drowsy Ritz Ballroom was transformed into something out of Studio 54, courtesy of our man Freddie! Amazing job Freddie. Sadly we had to part early and head to Josephine to get ready for the after party.

As guests from the Ritz began arriving at Josephine we had the privilege of having a very special pop in to party with us. None other than Mr. Washington Capitals - Alex Ovechkin, we enjoyed having Mr. Ovechkin spend the evening with us. He was fresh off his feature in OnTap Magazine, it was another amazing Friday with DJ Dove from NYC rockin the main room.

After a quick late night session it was a quick nap and back up for a meeting and house party with a certain Mr. Late Night. Well we made it to the meeting but the house party, not so much. During the meeting it was interesting turn events, that we will visit on a later post. After handling that situation we headed over to Tysons Corner for the Youth Aids event we mention in earlier post. Capitol File Magazine and Tysons Galleria had teamed up to YouthAids, for this charity event. For the event 26 luxury brand stores particiapated in giving 10% of their sales for the day to the charity. It was a fabulous event with Lebanese Taverna providing tasty treats for shoppers and supports of this event.

As the evening progressed it was time to head back to city to begin prepping for the Saturday Night ritual at Indebleu, in case some of you haven't noticed their have been a few changes in Tantra Lounge. Former General Manager Mood B. had moved to Current Sushi, and former Play Lounge manager Raj stepped in as the GM at Tantra Lounge. This weekend was sadly Raj's last weekend as Mehdi from K Street Lounge took over General Manager duties this weekend. So expect some new changes and faces at Tantra Lounge in Chinatown.

On another note, we had the chance to pop in K Street's newest party. Saturday Nights at Tuscana Lounge, hosted by none other than Mr. K Street nightlife himself Masoud A. This party remind us of the old days with Barbari on the turntables and a valet line 20 cars deep. It was truly a amazing night, with tons of familar friendly faces and staff you it felt almost like Diva..oops I am dating myself..but good times by all...see you all on Wednesday....

My personal highlight of the weekend......4 AND 1 BABY!!!!! GO SKINS!!!!

Sesto Senso 15 Year Anniversary!

Sesto Senso Celebrates their 15 Year Anniversary!

From all of us at LITON EVENTS we would like to congratulate the entire Sesto Senso family. Having worked with and meet with Patricia and Fabio on numerous occasion, they are always a treat to work with. Its just a testament to their nature and the reason they are still in business after 15 years, and trust me that is like 100 years in the hospitality industry.

This restaurants endurance in the DC restaurant market is not only a testament to their commitment to excellent customer service and amazing Italian cuisine, but it speaks to the quality of the owners.

Being a large Italian fine-dining establishment, the interior is amazing and creates a certain warmth when you walk through the door. The interior is creation of MierStegerBrowne who developed the modern dining area with amazing fabric selections, custom lighting fixtures to create a truly intimate atmosphere. Make sure you stop by and congratulate the owners, also make sure you stop by their latest creation just across the circle the Darlington House.

Taylor Gourmet DC Deli - Market Opening Soon

Taylor Gourmet DC Deli - Market Opening Soon

French expats pine for real croissants. New Yorkers bitch about a decent slice. And Texans think y’all have never tasted barbecue. But Philly-philes simply take refuge at Taylor Gourmet.
The deli/market, opening tomorrow, was started by two Philadelphia natives who couldn’t find a decent hoagie. They’ve overcompensated with more than two dozen sandwiches (named, fittingly, after Philly streets) piled high with house-roasted meats. Not to mention old-school Italian specialties (risotto balls, chicken cutlets) from family and personal recipes.
The shop — a stylized blend of rustic reclaimed wood and industrial galvanized iron — stocks Italian groceries, affordable wine and microbrews, and deli
meats and cheeses.

Best of all, it offers a large delivery radius within D.C.
Think of it as a gift of brotherly love.
